Dark Eyed Junco. The snow really brings these little guys out of hiding...so chubby and cute hopping in the snow!

Speaking of birds, there has been several Snowy Owl sighting in the area...so I'm off of a search...going to try and see myself one...such beautiful birds.

Fedelm

I'm taking my friend, TJ's advice and naming this one "Fedelm" - Irish faery prophetess to Queen Maeve (Medb). Fedelm is ACEO size (2.5x3.5 inches) and is drawn with micron pens and graphite on tinted Stonehenge paper.

New Year's Cardinal

New Year's Cardinal - finished this one on New Year's Day.

5x5 inches, Prismacolor pencil, on Color-Fix treated art board and touched with a bit of turpentine to "melt" the color pencil. I'm having too much fun seeing what the turpentine does to the pencil - I can see lots of possibilities to playing with this technique.

Hummingbird's Flight

Finally a new drawing...a touch of summer on this winter's day...dreaming of hummingbirds - This little ruby-throated humming bird is drawn with Prismacolor pencils on art board treated with Color-Fix then touched with a bit of turpentine to "melt" the color pencil. "Hummingbird's Flight" is 5x5 inches.

New ACEO

Here's another ACEO...Graphite and Micron pen on Stonehenge paper, 2.5x3.5 inches. I'm enjoying this technique of combining the graphite with the Micron pens...I think it give the piece a soft look. Need to think of a Name for this one....

Owl Lover

Had a chance to sneak in a little drawing time this weekend...tried something a little different....combining a graphite drawing with the Zentangle style. This is an ACEO size, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, graphite and Micron pen on Stonehenge paper.

Tangled Christmas Ornaments

Ho Ho Ho....Tangled Christmas Ornaments...did these on little wooded forms I picked up at Micheal's - painted them white and then tangled with Micron Pens - used glitter pens for the color - scan does not show how sparkly they are. I'm going to tie them to my little bags of cookies I give out.

Note: I sprayed them very lighty with a glossy fixative...you have to be careful as too much will run the color glitter pen, the black microns handled the fixative just fine. Several light coats should do it. I also brushed one with Mod Podge (after a light coat of fixative) which gave it a nice smooth feel.

The Gift

"The Gift" This little yule fairy is making a gift of her heart, wishing love and joy to all.

Blodeuwedd

"Blodeuwedd" (Welsh name from blodeu 'flowers, blossoms' + gwedd 'face, aspect, appearance': "flower face")

Fleur - Yule Fairy

Yule Fairy Tangled..."Fleur", ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5, Ink, Prismacolor, glitter pen and yes, GLITTER!!! It's really hard to see the sparkle the glitter gives her...very magical for the holiday's :o)

Yule Fairy

Love my graphite...it always calls to me. Here's my newest ACEO, Need a name for this one...she's a Yule fairy...so something in that realm would do nicely. I'm also toying with adding a little bit of tinted graphite ( red and green ) in the holly and berries and maybe a little bit of glitter on the snow flakes....opinions please!

Adara (Welch name meaning 'catches birds' ) ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches - graphite on Bristol Board. As much as I love creating the ZIA's pencil is my first love and always calls me back :)
