Hummingbird's Flight

Finally a new drawing...a touch of summer on this winter's day...dreaming of hummingbirds - This little ruby-throated humming bird is drawn with Prismacolor pencils on art board treated with Color-Fix then touched with a bit of turpentine to "melt" the color pencil. "Hummingbird's Flight" is 5x5 inches.

New ACEO

Here's another ACEO...Graphite and Micron pen on Stonehenge paper, 2.5x3.5 inches. I'm enjoying this technique of combining the graphite with the Micron pens...I think it give the piece a soft look. Need to think of a Name for this one....

Tangled Christmas Ornaments

Ho Ho Ho....Tangled Christmas Ornaments...did these on little wooded forms I picked up at Micheal's - painted them white and then tangled with Micron Pens - used glitter pens for the color - scan does not show how sparkly they are. I'm going to tie them to my little bags of cookies I give out.

Note: I sprayed them very lighty with a glossy fixative...you have to be careful as too much will run the color glitter pen, the black microns handled the fixative just fine. Several light coats should do it. I also brushed one with Mod Podge (after a light coat of fixative) which gave it a nice smooth feel.

The Gift

"The Gift" This little yule fairy is making a gift of her heart, wishing love and joy to all.

2.5x3.5 inches, Micron Archival Ink, Prismacolor and Glitter pens on Stonehenge paper. It's hard to tell from the scan, but I've used glitter pens in some areas to add a bit of sparkley magic.

Blodeuwedd

"Blodeuwedd" (Welsh name from blodeu 'flowers, blossoms' + gwedd 'face, aspect, appearance': "flower face")
2.5x3.5 inches, Micron Archival Ink, Prismacolor and Glitter pens on Stonehenge paper. It's hard to tell from the scan, but I've used glitter pens in some areas to add a bit of sparkley magic.

Yule Fairy

Love my graphite...it always calls to me. Here's my newest ACEO, Need a name for this one...she's a Yule fairy...so something in that realm would do nicely. I'm also toying with adding a little bit of tinted graphite ( red and green ) in the holly and berries and maybe a little bit of glitter on the snow flakes....opinions please!

Adara (Welch name meaning 'catches birds' ) ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches - graphite on Bristol Board. As much as I love creating the ZIA's pencil is my first love and always calls me back :)
Two Wildling Fairies....: ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, ink, prismacolor and black glitter pen on Stonehenge paper.

Mermaids all Tangled Up

Here's my latest ACEO's - Mermaid & Sea-dragon and Mermaid Dreams. Both are 2.5 x 3.5 inches and are drawn on Stonehenge paper with Micron Pens, Prismacolor color pencil and highlighted with black glitter pen, adding a wee bit of sparkly magic :)

Deep Love - Tangled Mermaid

This is the first in a series of Tangled Mermaids I'm currently working on. ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Micron pen and Prismacolor on Stonehenge paper.

Crane Tangle

Another "basic" tangle, though a friend got me thinking about water birds and their beautiful shapes...so this basic tangle started from the shape of a crane then I drew a string around the crane shape and then started to "tangle". Used Micron pens and graphite/tinted graphite for the shading. Done on an official Zentangle Tile, 3.5 x 3.5 inches.

Back To Basics

Back to Basics....didn't have any ZIAs ready to tangle, so decided to create a few basic tangles on Zentangle Tiles, 3.5 x 3.5. I used a bit of tinted graphite as well as regular graphite on the shading.

Mischief Managed: Tangled & Untangles

I drew the graphite version first and then did a "tangled" version. Most of the time I do a graphite version first in order to get the lines right - especially the placement of the eyes. Ink is so unforgiving, no going back from mistakes.

Both of these pieces are ACEO size (2.5 x 3.5 inches) The graphite version is on Strathmore 300 Smooth Bristol board and the "Tangled" version is drawn on Stonehenge paper with Micron pen, Prismacolor and tinted graphite. It's hard to tell from the scan, but she also has a little bit of glitter here and there ;o)
