Chainlea

I was playing with shapes the other day to see if I could come up with a new tangle...not sure if this has already been done, but I'm calling it "Chainlea" because it kinda reminds me of a chain and a leaf.

Here are the basic steps along with some variations - Enjoy!

New Fairy Tangle ACEO - Silver Whispers

I was going to do this one in all color pencil, but then I liked the way the black and white was looking with the color, so decided to do the shading of the tangles in graphite...I think it works, do you?

"Silver Whispers" is 2.5 x by 3.5 inches and is draw with Prismacolor pencil, micron pen and graphite.

Archeress Number Four

Another larger piece...roughly 7.5 x 8.5 inches, micron pen and graphite on Stonehenge paper. Leaving the naming of this one to the woman who just bought her :o)

Dragonfly Shadow - A New Fairy-Tangle

Worked on this one over the weekend....gotta love the cold and snow, good days to stay indoors and dream of dragonflies in the warm summer air.

"Dragonfly Shadow" is drawn on a 5x7 piece of Stonehenge paper with micron pen and graphite.

Third in my Archeress series. This one is a bit larger, roughly 7.5 x 8.5 inches, Graphite and micron pen on Stonehenge paper.

Title: "Maia"the 4th brightest star in the Pleiades and she one of the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione in Greek mythology. (Thanks for the name Rho!)

I'm taking my friend, TJ's advice and naming this one "Fedelm" - Irish faery prophetess to Queen Maeve (Medb). Fedelm is ACEO size (2.5x3.5 inches) and is drawn with micron pens and graphite on tinted Stonehenge paper.

New Year's Cardinal

New Year's Cardinal - finished this one on New Year's Day.

5x5 inches, Prismacolor pencil, on Color-Fix treated art board and touched with a bit of turpentine to "melt" the color pencil. I'm having too much fun seeing what the turpentine does to the pencil - I can see lots of possibilities to playing with this technique.
